I created this book out of a deep need to break free from the relentless rush of modern life. We’re all moving so fast, often without realizing how much we’re missing. I saw it in myself, and I saw it mirrored in the people around me—this longing for depth, for ease, for genuine connection. But I also saw how hard it is to actually slow down when everything feels urgent.
This book was a cathartic act—both an escape and a return. As I wrote, I found myself transforming. I realized that slow living doesn’t mean doing less; it means doing things with presence. It’s not about detaching from life—it’s about leaning into it with intention.
Life’s Ocean is more than a story. It’s an invitation to reclaim your breath, your time, your joy. If you’ve been aching to shift but haven’t known how, this might be your gentle starting point. It’s a small investment—but the return? A radically softer, richer way to live.
Inside Life’s Ocean, you’ll find daily self-care routines, feel-good workouts, and nourishing food that actually tastes amazing. This toolkit is designed to support real-life moments of stress, pressure, and disconnection, including:
Feeling overwhelmed? When life feels loud, fast, and nonstop, it’s easy to lose your center. These tools help you slow down, reset, and reconnect.

In this reality, your relationships flourish because you invest in them with genuine presence and attention. You listen to your friends and family, not with the intent to respond or the distraction of your phone, but to truly understand them. Your connections deepen, your conversations become more meaningful, and your bonds strengthen. You find that life is richer when you take the time to truly live it, not just survive it.
In this existence, you wake up each day not burdened by the relentless to-do lists and expectations. Instead, you rise with the sun, feeling the warmth seep through your window and into your soul, ready to face the day at your own pace. You enjoy your morning coffee, not gulping it down as you rush out the door, but instead, sipping it slowly, relishing the taste and the quietness of the dawn. You spend your day engaged in tasks that bring you joy and fulfillment, not consumed by the pressure of deadlines or societal demands.
A feel-good rom-com packed with law school drama, awkward stumbles, and unexpected wins. Perfect for fans of self-discovery, second chances, and stories that make you laugh and feel something.

I can’t get over how seamlessly the tenets of slow living are woven into this book. I was inspired to introduce different aspects of the practice with gentle nudges as I read about how Nat was integrating them. I experienced important shifts in my life: 1) I eat more healthily because my body likes it not because I should 2) I realized that if I look at things that I want/need to do in bite-size pieces, I can actually get them done or at least start them (which makes them easier to complete) 3) I am really into the healing powers of leaning into the masculine and feminine energies depending on what feels better for each person and I really appreciated this candid exploration of what leaning into feminine energy means for Nat and to the author. Laughter is really important to me–I didn’t know how much it mattered until my time got limited and I had to be more intentional about where I wanted to put my attention; this book had me laughing out loud and often!!! It was such a fantastic return on my time investment! Really glad a I read this book—my family thanks the author as well :) and I can’t wait to read the next one in the (hopefully) series! I’m also really excited about the activities on youtube and the little books–I’ve had fun seeing what comes up next on the channel.
This book met me right where I was—juggling motherhood, career shifts, and the quiet (and sometimes loud) ache of burnout. Life’s Ocean didn’t preach. It didn’t tell me to change my life. It showed me, through Nat, what it might feel like to slow down and listen in. There’s this gentle rhythm to the story that somehow matched the pace I wanted to live at—but forgot how. I’ve started cooking again (with joy, not obligation), taking morning walks without my phone, and even setting up little “micro-retreats” at home, thanks to some of the exercises. Also? I cried. I laughed. I healed. It’s not just a book. It’s a friend who reminds you how to feel again.
I picked this up because a friend said it was “funny and soulful”—not words I usually expect in the same sentence. Boom. She was right. I didn’t expect to get hooked, but the main character really got under my skin in the best way. I didn’t feel like I was reading a self-help book; I felt like I was reading someone’s inside thoughts—real, unfiltered, sometimes raw, but always insightful. And the best part? It didn’t try to fix me. It just got me thinking differently. I’ve made small but meaningful shifts—less doomscrolling, more music, better food, deeper rest. Bonus: I gained further clarity on “feminine energy and masculine energy”. Definitely recommending this to anyone who wants a reset without the pressure.
